Default How do I keep word documents from opening up in Internet Explorer

When I open a Word document it opens up in a Internet Explorer format rather
than just opening up in Word. This didn't always exists, just started
recently. Any help out there would be appreciated.

Default How do I keep word documents from opening up in Internet Explorer

Right click on a document in Windows Explorer and select 'Open
with...'-choose program. Select Microsoft Office Word from the list of
programs and tick the box that says something like 'Always use selected
program to open these files'
