Default style options in Word

I'm using Word 97 and I'm getting very frustrated with the horrible green
underlining on what Microsft consider to be long sentences. I'm writing
academic essays and long sentences go with the territory. Is there a way of
turning off the 'sentence length' check in style options? Any help
appreciated.

Why not just disable "Check grammar as you type"? I have been getting along
without it happily ever since it was introduced.

There are also lots of option setting in "Tools Options, Spelling & =
Grammar tab", if you click the options button in the grammar section, =
and maybe "Wordiness" will remove the check for long convoluted =
sentences that are hard to follow such as this one.

Regards,
Klaus
