Can we use different text in Header/Footer fields in a word docume
I have a couple of word documents (different units of a book) and I want to
merge them in a single word document (like a book). In the Header field, I want to place the name of relevant unit in which cursor is currently placed. Hence the different header information in different units. Please advice!!! |

There are two possible approaches (which you may need to combine).
1. Section breaks 2. StyleRef fields If you insert a section break at the end of each document, you can then unlink the headers in the respective sections and change the header text for each section. If the text that you want in the header appears in the document itself, you can use a StyleRef field in the header to pick it up. This approach does not require section breaks, though you may want/need section breaks for other reasons. Even if you do have section breaks, however, it doesn't require unlinking the headers unless you want to change other information in the header. -- Suzanne S.
