Default Multiple instances of Word

I swear I thought there was a setting in the program that would open
multiple Word files in one instance of the MSWord instead of opening
multiple copies of the program. However, I can't find the setting I am
looking for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Using Office XP.

Tools Options View Windows in Taskbar. Uncheck it to get
multiple documents in one main window.

BTW, the other view (when the setting is checked) doesn't create
multiple copies of the program -- there's only one copy of winword.exe
running -- but each document is give the full set of menus and
toolbars, and each appears as a separate button on the taskbar.
