Default Word 2003 macro disappears

Dear All,
I have read about this problem and applied the suggestions--changed security
settings on macros, store the template in the correct place, etc.--and yet I
have now recorded and "saved" a multi-step macro 10 times and when I close
and then re-launch Word, it has gone. Can I save it to another location and
then load it in? Isn't there a simpler way?
Any and all suggestions gratefully received,
Barb Wanless

You can save it to a template and then load that template as a global
template by putting it in Word's Startup folder. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc.

Chances are that you have Adobe Acrobat Version 7 installed. It blocks
saving changes to normal.dot. If so, see the last part of
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm.

Hi Barb

Do you happen to be running Adobe Acrobat? If so, see Graham Mayor's article
on Adobe Acrobat at
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm

If not, then first of all clean out any temporary files that might be
distressing Word. See
What to do when Word crashes
http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm

If that doesn't help, then suspect your IT department of meddling with your
normal.dot.

Hope this helps. Post back if you need further information.

Dear Charles,
That's it, dagnabit. Acrobat is gymnasticking my macro. Will beat it's
little bottom soundly.
Thank you
