Default Font changing when inserting file

When using a document template and inserting another document, Word changes
the font to Arial 10 even though both the template and the inserting document
are formatted with Times New Roman 12. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks

Default

A little clarification: I created a template with the business logo at the
top. There is a footer with the business address and web page. I then
created a macro that calls the template and inserts the date. The default
font is Times New Roman for all documents but when a secretary inserts a
document (Created by her boss) into the template, the font changes to Arial
10. I would really like prevent Word from changing the font.
Thanks
