Default Why are the top of the letters are getting chopped off.

As I enter text, or insert a ClipArt graphic, everything is chopped of at the
top.

Graw,

That can be caused by having an "exact" figure set as the paragraph line
spacing. Open the paragraph formatting/Indents and Spacing dialog and
change the line spacing setting.
