centering text in Word
I open word with the ruler on. The range is 0 to20 and the right hand margin
marker is at the 20 mark. When I prepare to type centred text the cursor moves to the 7 and a half position ie not in the centre. If I select column and click on single column the cursor moves to the centre (10) position. How do I set up the Normal Word doc to so that the centering icon centres the text -- Peter |

Word should calculate the "Centre" between the Indent markers on the ruler
not the margins. If you click on Centre Icon and then move the indent markers left and right you should see the curor move accordingly. Thanks for reply. I should have used the term right indent(not margin) My
right indent is at 20 and the left indent at 0 but the centering is at 7.5. I have no problems on my laptop Any more thoughts Peter -- Peter "Arpeggio" wrote: Word should calculate the "Centre" between the Indent markers on the ruler not the margins. From your original post, it sounds like you've accidentally gotten
two-column formatting in your normal.dot template. Try the steps at http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErr...ocNotBlank.htm. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org On Tue, 9 Jan 2007 03:34:01 -0800, Peter Harrison wrote: Thanks for reply.
