Default how do I get lines next to text?

Hi,
I want to have headings for paragraphs and have lines next to the headings
because it will look better than underlining the words. I have no idea how to
do this in Microsoft Word.

Thank you.

I assume that you mean you want vertical lines on the right and left of the
headings? If that's the case, just format the paragraph and put borders for
the right and left of the paragraph. If that's not it, please clarify your
question.
