Page numbers in Word 2007
Word 2007seems to have gone overboard on design. I'm delighted that the
header/footer is finally on the INSERT tab and you don't VIEW it any more. But why can't I just put a plain page number in? Surely my first choice should be for a simple page number (or X of Y), rather than having to scroll through massive options with bars, circles, lines etc? And when you select header/footer and click Page Number, you get the same option to go to header/footer (no, I'm there already and I just want a really plain page number -- I can format it myself thanks). |

It seems Microsoft cannot please all of the people all of the time. However,
if you can format it for yourself, you can also manually insert a field {Page}. You could even make an autocorrect of this for (say) #p which would save you more menu trawling. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org AlisonW wrote: Word 2007seems to have gone overboard on design. I believe the ability to insert just a page number field was added in
a later version. Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup.
