Default How do I do a batch conversion of Wordperfect .dat files to Word?

I have literally thousands of old .dat files in Wordperfecy 6.1 that I need
to convert to Word .doc documents for searching purposes. I do not need to
maintain the ability to do merges or other features with the old files, just
convert them to .doc files.

Install Office 2000, make sure you install all of the Supplementary
Templates, then run the Batch Conversion Wizard.

The WordPerfect converter is no longer offered.
