A thesis statement is one (at most 2) lines stating the main point(s) of your
writing. "Low self esteem is the primary cause of poor grades, poor impulse
control, failure to adhere to parental and school rules, inability to form
peer relationships, and can lead to involvement with drugs and alcohol."
Your paper then discusses and "proves" each of the parts of your statement.
