Default Help!!! Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object is not working an

Good day,

Office 2003, XP.

I help people, I troubleshoot but this time, I'm the one who needs help.

When I copy an Excel object and paste it "special" (choosing Microsoft
Office Excel Worksheet Object" in a Word document, I get the following
message:

"MS Office Word can't start the application required to open this object.
An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would
you like to repair this feature now?"

I click Yes. After what seems to be the repair process, I get a message to
the effect that the server application is not available, etc., etc.

Went to Add/Remove Programs, repaired MS Office but to no avail.

Can someone out there help me?

Thank you!

Hi Helen,

Do you see this problem if you start Windows in Safe Mode?

It sounds an awful lot like some outside application may be preventing the OLE
server/client connection that's required for creating embedded objects (maybe
anti-virus?).
