Default In mail-merge I can not get the data base to change

I setup a mail-merge using Word 2002 and selected a data base from Excel. It
all worked fine for making labels from the original Excel file. Now I have
updated my Excel worksheet and saved it under a new name. When i select the
new file, mail-merge will not allow me to change from the original Excel
file.
Can anyone help?
thanks

From the View menu, select Toolbars and then click on the mailmerge item so
that the mailmerge toolbar is displayed. Then use the second button from
the left of the toolbar to open the new datasource.
