Default Make printout identical to View - Normal appearance?

How do I create a printout on 8.5" x 11" paper that has all the same fonts,
spacing, and pasted images arranged identically to Normal appearance, that is
selectable from the View menu, hence View - Normal?

The name "Normal view" doesn't mean what you think it does -- it really
should be called "Draft view" (and it was finally changed to that name in
Word 2007). The Print Layout view and the Print Preview show what will be
printed.

You may or may not get what you want by going to Tools Options Print and
checking the box for "Draft output". The result you get depends on what else
is in the document besides what appears in Normal view.

Ten or fifteen years ago, when computers were much slower, they had trouble
doing all the computations needed to keep Print Layout view updated while
you edited and formatted. The so-called Normal view allowed you to turn off
pagination, display of floating objects, and some other
computation-intensive tasks to concentrate on editing. Then you could switch
to Print Layout view to see what it would look like on paper and do some
last-minute fixups. On any reasonably current computer, you can do
everything in Print Layout view and forget about Normal view.
