Template download from Microsoft
I downloaded a fax cover sheet template from Microsoft. I customized the
template with my personal information, e-mailed it to my boss, customized the template with his personal information while sitting at his PC, and now, the files are linked. I can't make a change to my file that doesn't effect his file. How do I unlink these two seemingly independent documents? Thanks. -- bb |

What you are describing makes no sense. Describe the linkage between your
system and your boss' system. Networked? Sharing a user templates folder? I think what happened here is you created two instances of the same template.
Your boss has to have his own copy of the .dot file. Every time you double-click on a .dot file, it creates a .doc instance of that template which is linked back to the .dot "bbonn" wrote: I downloaded a fax cover sheet template from Microsoft.
