Default switch text order in a cell

How would I change the text order in a cell (either through word or excel).
For example the text is: Smith, James. I would like to switch it to James
Smith.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...meLastName.htm, which
will help you split the names. You can then swap the columns or sort by
either one.
