Extracting embedded file names in WORD?
How does one extract the original file name of a file that has been embedded
in WORD? I am having difficulty extracting the original file name and the convert/edit option does not help in this regard; however the original file name appears in the main document. Seems that this should be extractable. Suggestions? |

Extracting embedded file names in WORD?
Hi Ron,
Provided the embedded objects are linked to the source (and, if they're OLE objects, are formatted as 'in-line with text'), you can see the original filenames by toggling the field code display via Alt-F9. If the object are floating (eg formatted as square), re-formatting them as 'in-line with text' will allow you to see their source file details also. -- Cheers macropod [MVP - Microsoft Word] "Ron H" Ron wrote in message ...
