Sorting table by a field with split cells
The contents of each row of my talbe *may* apply to more than one area, so I've split that cell and put a code for each of the appropriate areas into its own "fragment" of the cell. Word won't let me sort - something about "merged cells". Any suggestions? Thanks! |

It should say "Cannot sort a table containing merged or split cells". As long as your table contains *any* cells that are merged or split vertically, the sort command won't work. You'll have to merge the split cells back together, do the sort, and then re-split them. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
