Default Vertical alignment next to images

I have inserted an image (actually an equation) and I want it to "flow" with
the text. When I write some text next to it (actually a list number), it is
aligned to the bottom. I want it to be aligned at the top of the image. In
HTML this is done by img align=top. How can it be done in Word 2003?

Suggestion: Create a two-column, borderless table. Insert the image in one of
the cells (wrapping style: in line with text) and type your text in the other
cell. In a Word table, you can manage the vertical alignment of text (via the
Tables and Borders toolbar in case of Word 2003 or earlier).

You can save the table as an AutoText for easy reuse in case you need to
insert the same layout several times.
