Default Word 2007 - Cannot get new default font to hold

I have tried unsuccessfully to change the default font for all documents in
Word 2007, but I cannot get it to hold the setting. I have installed SP1. I
am using the Paragrah dialog box to make the change and then clicking the
default button. When I close Word and re-open it, it's back to the factory
default of Calibri. Any suggestions?

Default Word 2007 - Cannot get new default font to hold

I am attempting to change the default font for all new documents by using the
Dialog Box Launcher to make the change then clicking the default button just
as instructed by Microsoft. Following this procedure works on most machines,
but I have two that it will not work on. I was hoping to find a fix for it
to avoid uninstalling/reinstalling the software (if that will even resolve
the problem). How do I redefine the normal style?

I believe that you need to redefine the Normal style to use the desired
font.

Try this: Open normal.dotm as a document, and then press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to
display the Styles pane. Click the Manage Styles button. On the Set Defaults
tab, specify the desired settings. Click OK. Save and close the file.

In order to locate normal.dotm you can search for it in Windows (be sure to
search hidden files and folders). When you find the file, just right-click
its icon and choose Open from the context menu.
