I recently downloaded the Home & Student Office Trial as I can't decide which
one I wish to purchase. I thought that everything within these trials was
supposed to be fully functional. While using the Word 2007 program within the
trial I tried to add page numbers to a paper I am writing for work and it
wouldn't allow me to do it. Any suggestions as to why this program isn't
fully functional?

It is fully functional; even purchasers of the full version have trouble
inserting page numbers.

[Doug Robbins - Word MVP]

In the Header and Footer chunk of the Insert Tab, use the Page Number
pull-down.
