New to Office 2007. Why do I get a normal document saved on my desktop after
working in word or outlook?

Is that a document or a template?

I guess it is a template. The icon on my desktop looks like the template
icon. It happens after working in outlook and word 2007.

I would check the setting for the location of templates.
Click the office button/menu (to the left of the Home menu)
Select Word Options
Click on the Advanced category
Scroll to the bottom and choose File Locations
Check User Templates - does it default to your desktop instead of the
Templates folder of your profile?

Dear trr:
I have the same problem (see my July 29th post). Did you ever get it figured
out? I know Reitanos is trying to be helpful - but his responses are too
complex for me - one or two clicks is my limit!!!
Thanks,
Brad

PS - I have a Word document (that's what is says it's saved as) and NO MATTER
what I do, it stays on the Desktop and cannot be moved to My Documents - even
when I try to copy and paste it as a new Document - how frustrating is that!!!
