Default merge related records onto a page w/new page at defined data

I have a list of about 1,000 records I want to merge to emails. Each email
can contain data from one to 7 or 8 records from the list. A new email
would be created only when email address field is different from the previous
record's email address.

How do I make it merge to this condition?

You are trying to perform a "multiple items per condition (=key field)"
mailmerge which Word does not really have the ability to do:

See the "Group Multiple items for a single condition" item on fellow MVP
Cindy Meister's website at

Or take a look at the following Knowledge Base Article

Hope this helps.
