I keep setting my default language to UK english so that the spellcheck picks
up the correct mistakes. But Every time I open a new document its reverted
right back to US english. Why won't my default work?

For information when I set language under tools menu both UK and US english
options are at top of the list both divided from other choices by a line - is
this usual?

You need to change the keyboard language in Windows as well. See
