Problem with ruler...
You have toggled on the Hide White Space option. Check under the View menu
and you should find Show White Space. -- Terry Farrell - MS Word MVP "silas" wrote in message ... Hi. In Word 2003 when I create a new document the text starts at the very top of the page, unlike my previous documents which have an inch margin at the top and sides. The top ruler shows the inch (which I can adjust when the cursor turns into a two-headed arrow) but the side ruler shows no margin and I can't get the cursor to change so I can grab the edge. In Page Setup the top margin is showing as 1" but on the page there is no margin. I'm using the Print Layout view. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. silas |

Terry, Jay & Pat,
Forgive me for my delayed reply, I got really swamped for a couple of days. ToolsOptionsViewWhite Space did the job. Funny, as long as I've used Word I never knew about the White Space toggle. I love learning new stuff. I've also saved those very informative links. Thanks again, all, for your much appreciated assistance. silas "Pat Garard" apgarard-bigpond:net:au wrote in message ... The "white space" toggle was new in Word 2002 (maybe even 2003).
