Default word 2000 - Stopping users formfields resetting in a form

I have created a form which users may have to add more fields to. When they
unprotect and then protect again they loose data. I copied a macro code from
an MVP site (word.mvps.org/faqs/) - I can copy it here if it's any help, and
added it to 'toolsprotectunprotectdocument' and 'protectform' command.
However, it's not working - I get a message saying that macros aren't
enabled. What should I do now? Can you help please?

As the message indicates, you have to enable macros. Go to Tools
Macro Security and set the level to Medium. When you open the form,
you'll get a message with three buttons: Disable Macros, Enable
Macros, and Cancel. Click the Enable button, and the macros will work.
