Hi Mike,
Word 2007 is no different in this respect. The error message suggest you haven't followed the instructions correctly. Try this approach: .. select your mergefield, which will look something like «Amount» .. press Ctrl-F9. You should now see something like { «Amount» } .. edit between the field braces so that you get the equivalent of {=«Amount»*100 \# "0%"} .. run your mailmerge -- Cheers macropod [MVP - Microsoft Word] "mike" wrote in message ... The F Lock was off so the alt-F9 and ctrl-F9 where not working... Now that I figured that out my field looks like this: { MERGEFIELD Annual_Billing_Rate \# "#.###%" } When I insert the second set of brackets via ctrl-F9 and type in the correct equation and then do alt F9 my results come back blank.
