Saved Word Docs Display sm. Rectangles not text Why?
There are a few Word Doc.s I have saved and now when I open them, there is no
text on the doc. There are only small rectangles in place of the text. I don't know how this happened, but this is somehow affecting the way my outlook signature looks. I try to change my outlook signature, and it is displayed as the same rectangles. I've tried nearly everything to fix this problem, but so far I've had no luck. Does anyone have information that might be of some help. |

It sounds as you are working in Word 97 or maybe 2000, and the setting is stuck on "Recover Text from any File". You had to explicitly reset it to *.doc in earlier versions. 2¢ Robert -- /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign | MS \ / | MVP X Against HTML | for / \ in e-mail & news | Word |

Saved Word Docs Display sm. Rectangles not text Why?
Good Morning RMF
I am using Word 2003. When in word I went to File , Open and it wasn't set to .doc. it was set to All word Documents (*.doc; *.dot; *.htm; *.html; *.url;* How can I change this setting? I'm kind of New with working with computers, and all the software, but I'm a quick learner. I have yet to learn how to fix problems as I have here. I would appreciate any information you could provide me with. Thank you, Native Beauty 78 "Robert M. Where did you save those files? I would try opening them on another computer. There is a chance that they really _are_ broken, though (my first guess was that Word only opens them with a wrong "filter") Greetings Robert -- /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign | MS \ / | MVP X Against HTML | for / \ in e-mail & news | Word |
