97 Templates in an XP World
Hey, I am still using Office 97. I don't know why, but I LIKE the feel of it
better than Office XP. (I keep buying the upgrades, and uninstalling them.) But, here's a unique thing: In WinXP, my wife and I use different sign-ons. Is there a way to tweak Word so we use different "Normal" templates? (Her display settings are bigger than mine, and I'd like to set her Word to have a view of 150%, and keep mine at 100%). Thanks! (And don't tell me to upgrade!) |

If you're using separate profiles, you *should* have separate Normal.dot
files. In Word 2000 and above, Normal.dot is stored in the user profile; the default file location for user templates (including Normal.dot) is C:\Documents and Settings\profile name\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates. I should think you could use the same setup for Word 97. -- Suzanne S.
