Default Very slow Word startup

I have Ad-aware and have updated it and does not help. I reloaded Word and it
got slower. I redit Normal.dot with no effect. I have XP which has a
firewall. I have Norton Antivirus which is updated and is good until the
middle of June

I have about ten clients running Word 2002 - 5 of them

take quite a long
time(more than 30 seconds) to start up, and the rest start

nearly
instantaneoulsy(less than 5 seconds). I have deleted the

normal.dot in the
slow running machines, but to no avail. All of the

machines are identical,
running all of the same sortware - nothing processor or

RAM intensive. I have
deleted office and reinstalled it - no luck. Is there a

registry key setting
that might be causing this?

Thanks
.

Turn off Norton AV's office plug-in option. It is notoriously problematic
with Word.
