Is it possible to re-order pages by drag and drop?Like PowerPoint
I'm working on a large document and need to re-order the pages in my
document. Is it possible to go into a view of all of the pages and drag and drop them in the correct order like you would in slide sorter view in PowerPoint? |

No, it really isn't because Word doesn't really think in pages the way
PowerPoint thinks in slides. If you keep typing on a powerpoint slide, it just disappears off the bottom of the page; in Word, it scrolls onto the next page. If you have used the heading styles, you can go into Outline view and move logical sections around that way. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! No - Word has no concept of what a physical page is. It simply tries to
indicate how many sheets of paper will be required to render your content in print based on the parameters specified in the file (such as paper size, margins, formatting, volume of content, etc.). That type of manipulation requires a page layout/desktop publishing program, such as Publisher. Depending on a number of variables, you may be able to rearrange the doc in Outline View, for example, using a dragging technique. The doc will repaginate accordingly. There's also Cut & Paste, of course. -- HTH|:) Bob Jones [MVP] Office:Mac "dkelly" wrote in message ... I'm working on a large document and need to re-order the pages in my document. Thank you for "breaking it down" for me. If I understand you correctly, I
will need to import the document into a desktop publishing program to rearrange some pages. That would beat cutting and pasting any day... Thanks again...
