Default Confirming Deletion of a Selected Block

When I try to delete a selected block, even if it's only one word, Word asks
me down on the status bar, if I really actually want to delete the block. I
have to stop working on my document and tell it Yesm by typing a "Y". This
is very annoying. How can I turn off this feature and just have word delete
the thing when I want it deleted?

This is caused by WordPerfect option settings. Go to ToolsOptionsGeneral
and uncheck
"Help for WordPerfect Users" and "Navigation keys for WordPerfect Users."
