Default Converting table contents query

A minimal example of my query:-
In Word 2003 I have a 1 row two column table.
In each column I have 3 entries.
For example:
Left column:-
sky is
grass is
water is
Right column:-
blue
green
wet

How can I convert the table contents to be in 3 rows and two columns?
TIA

I would copy and paste the table into Excel, use the
Edit-PasteSpecial-Transpose command in Excel, and then copy and
paste back into Word.
