Default New document at page top

For some reason when I start a new document the first editable line
has jumped right to the top of the page border (where any header
should be). It never used to do this and I can't think of anything
I've done recently that would have caused this to happen.

I have tried resetting Page Setup properties and also tried saving
defaults to Normal.dot, but each time I start Word or start a new
blank document the same problem happens.

Please advise how to reset to normal/regular behaviour?

Word2003
Windows XP SP2

Thanks.

In Word 2002 or 2003, click on Tools | Options | View tab | check the
"White space between pages" box | OK.

In Word 2007, click on Office button | Word Options | Display | check
the "Show white space between pages in Print Layout view" box | OK.
