Default Prevent page setup of deleted section imposing itself on document

In a word document with (at least) two sections, each of which has different
page setups, when I delete the second section, the first section takes on the
page setup of the second section. This is a frequent problem as I use
templates and delete what I don't need. Surely it makes sense for the page
setup to be deleted with the section, not applied retrospectively to the
preceeding section.
