Form Fields in Tables
I am trying to change a document into a form. This document contains a
table, into which I would like to put form fields. When I put my curser in the table, my form toolbar becomes grayed out and unavailable to me. Please tell me what I am doing wrong - I am a rookie at this and appreciate all input. Thank you. |

Perhaps I am answering my own question here, but I would still appreciate
guidance. It appears that the table is within a text box - does that have some bearing on my problem? Thanks. "Patti B" wrote: I am trying to change a document into a form. Yep. Text boxes and form fields don't mix. If there's some reason that you
*must* wrap text around the table, use a wrapped table or a frame. -- Suzanne S. Hi Patti,
It certainly does have a bearing -- form fields are not allowed within text boxes. You could try converting the text box to a frame (there's a button for that in the Format Text Box dialog). Or, if you have a recent enough version of Word, the table can float without being in a text box. In either case you can then insert form fields. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Patti B wrote: Perhaps I am answering my own question here, but I would still appreciate guidance.
