Default Can the line weight of the "line between" columns be adjusted?

I have only found the check box to turn the line between columns on or off.
Does anyone know if the weight of the line can be adjusted to be thiner or
thicker or to change the color?

No, it can't.

If you need that, first open the header or footer area (so the line will
repeat on each page) and then use the line tool on the Drawing toolbar to
draw a line in the space. You can change the weight and color of a drawing
line.

No adjustments to this line are possible.
