Default Right-hand pages going left in Word 2003...

Thanks, Suzanne, I solved the page centering problem okay, it was simply my
stupid error of not entering the correct page size.

Now, although all through these months of work I have always been able to
show the first page of the book in Print Preview all by itself in a single
panel (even under the show-two-pages option) as a right-hand page, which it
is & must be, WORD is now suddenly showing it as a left-hand page, followed
by another panel containing a left-hand page turned into a right-hand page.
This is the first page you see when you open a paperback & see the Blurb
page in front of you. And not only this page, but many of my chapter-opening
pages now show up as left-hand pages as well, which they absolutely must NOT
be, all chapter-opening pages must be right-hand pages.

How do I turn my very first page of the book back into a right-hand page
without inserting another page in front of it (in which case it would no
longer be the first page of the book)???

If I get that one right, presumably all the other chapter-opening pages will
fall back into order as right-hand pages...

Any thoughts...???

all the best!

alex

On the Layout tab of Page Setup, make sure you have the section start type
set to Odd Page. But note that by default Word shows side-by-side pages in
numerical order this way (odd on the left, even on the right); in Print
Layout view there is no way to change this, but you can see correct page
spreads in Print Preview if you have either "Mirror margins" or "Different
odd and even" enabled.
