Default Ruler doesn't match paper

My horizontal ruler and my text are shrunk relative to my paper, both on the
screen and when I print the page. Any suggestions to match the scale of the
ruler to the paper?

Does your document contain comments or tracked changes? If so, Word is
allowing a wide margin for the "balloons."

No comments are visible. I believe that the Word document might have been
converted from a pdf using Acrobat Professional 6.0. I'm wondering if that
has something to do with it.

If it was exported from Acrobat, then it is a JPEG (just a picture).

Acrobat Professional allows the user to convert a document to a Word doc that
can be edited in MSWord. But that wasn't the problem. You got it right the
first time.

So I gathered. I have Acrobat Standard, so I have only the JPEG export
method, I think.
