Default Sending Excel hyperlinks in Word via email

How do I send a word document with excel hyperlinks in such a way that the
hyperlinks are not disrupted? Meaning, when I send the document with
spreadsheets in a zip file the recepient is not able to open the hyperlinks.
I understand that it involves the path to the link, however I don't know the
best path for another user? This is vital financial information that I do
not wish to store on a web page and it must be accessible to users outside of
the intranet. Is there a method to send a .zip or folder with word doc and
hyperlink .xl sheets to allow users to have a file that is mobile?

Normally, if you create the links while the Word/Excel documents are in the
same folder, then zip them up; all the recipient has to do is unzip them in
any folder, as long as they are together in the same folder, and the links
should work.

What Word version?
