Default How do I stop Word replacing the font in my existing template?

I have created a template with the Geneva typeface as both the Normal and
Body styles.

I have included some existing text in this .dot template to save me time.
However, when I go to edit this text, it always replaces the (Normal or Body
Text) style with Times New Roman. TNR is not in my Normal.dot template or
used anywhere else.

The style bar then says (for example) "Normal + Times New Roman".

How can I keep my existing template formatting without having to keep
selecting that text and reverting to the original style?

Thanking you in advance.
