Stopping preview in Autotext/Quick Parts
Is there a way you can remove the preview for Autotext/Quick Parts? It just
takes up a lot of the screen and I'd like to use the space to list more entries. |

If you're referring to the preview in the Building Blocks Organizer dialog, the answer is no. And, unfortunately, the dialog isn't resizable, so you can't display a longer section of the list. As a slight aid to quick navigation, you can press the letter key for the first letter of the name of an item you want. The selector will jump to the next item that starts with that letter. Press the same letter repeatedly to keep skipping through the list. The alternative, if you have the necessary knowledge and free time, is to build a userform that presents just the list. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Stopping preview in Autotext/Quick Parts

I would be very interested in knowing if there was any userform that displays the the quickparts entry in a list with a more readable preview. Ideally it would be a modeless window that could float over the application but this is not necessary. The basic context is that I use Word Autotext enties to insert comments into documents when making assignments. It works very well in Word 2003 (the autotext box allows you to easily key through the enteries and the preview that is shown is large enough to read the entries) but in 2007 it is not as easy to use (the names are not shown in a list and the entries are not large enough to read). About 13 minutes into the screeen movie at http://baker-evans.com/marker%27s-assistant/demo.html there is a demo. Any assistance woudl be gratefully received, Pete Evans |
