Default Lost right-click menu in Word

I'm using Word 2003. When i right click a word that is mis-spelled (has the
red highlight underneath) i used to get several suggestions and other
options. Now i only get the option of my Email Signature? In fact if i right
click the mouse anywhere in any document, i now only get this single option.
I'm sure before this started to happen i was presented with formatting
options etc on the right-click of a mouse. can anyone suggest anything
please? i've checked all the correct options in the spellings tab under
ToolsOptions. Thx

You may have a macro tool or Add-in tool that's reset the popup menus. If you
hold down Ctrl when starting Word, to go into Safe Mode, do the "real" popup
menus appear during that session?

Thnx for the reply, unfortunately it did not help..(but i learnt how to open
word in Safe Mode!)...i have noticed though that this problems only exists in
certain paragraphs on my documents..(i looked for page breaks / section
breaks etc using the show/hide key but there was nothing unusual between the
good paragraphs and the ones that have the problem?!

Very interesting... This may be a clue.

OK, if I use Tools/Customize and activate the "Shortcut menus" toolbar, I can
see all the context menus that come with Word. I find one that shows E-mail
signature and not much else: the entry AutoSignature.

Was any kind of "tool" used to create this document, or might have been used to
create a document text was copied from? The Letter Wizard comes to mind...

If you click in such a paragraph, then look at the Styles list on the
Formatting toolbar, what style name do you see?

Cindy,

I followed the info on your reply but it didn't reveal any further clues.
the formatting style at the point where the problem begins is simply "12pt,
normal" etc. However, i have discovered that the text where the problem
begins has been copied from another document with an email signature at the
bottom. When i copied this into my document (without the auto signature) the
problems began. I can obviously work around this, it has just been
frustrating, (i i thought i knew a lot about Word having been using it since
back in the beginning days in the early 90's!) and it means any text i type
or add into it at this point forward has to be manually spell / grammar
checked! My document wasn't created using any tools / wizards etc, i cannot
speak of the document where the copied text came from!

Anyway, thanks for the help!
