how do i make my index go into two columns?
I have created an idex - I have used the two column option - yet no matter
what I do it creates the index in one long column - I want it in two columns side by side. What is the trick? |

Are you viewing it in Print Layout view? It will be displayed in one column
in Normal view. Also, if the index is very short (less than one column long), then it won't break to a second column till the first one is full (that is, it won't "balance the columns") unless you insert another Continuous section break at the end of the index. If none of the above is applicable, press Alt+F9 to display the INDEX field code and make sure it has a \c 2 switch. -- Suzanne S.
