Date field code will not auto update
Have a form letter template with most text protected except for certain
fields. Also has Date field code at top so when form letter is completed and printed, it has current date at top automatically. This works fine in Word 2003 and Word 2000, but Date field does not auto-update in Word 2002 (XP). All versions running within company. Ideas? |

Hi ?B?TU9UbWFu?=,
Have a form letter template with most text protected except for certain fields. Also has Date field code at top so when form letter is completed and printed, it has current date at top automatically. This works fine in Word 2003 and Word 2000, but Date field does not auto-update in Word 2002 (XP). All versions running within company. How about if you replace the Date field with a form field (not enabled), that displays the current date? Does that update properly? Or, have you made sure to activate the "Calculate on Exit" checkbox in some of the form fields you KNOW the user will tab into and out of, to force field updates? Finally, check in Tools/Print/Options to make sure updating fields is activated on the machines with Word 2000.
