Default deletion of solid lines from between lines of text

I have lost my word 2000 cd rom. Yet I still need to delete some solid lines
from a page I am reformatting

If the lines are drawing objects, click on a line to select it, and
press the Delete key to delete the selected line. If the lines are
paragraph borders, select the paragraphs above and below a line (or
press Ctrl+A to select the whole document), and click on Format |
Borders and Shading | Borders tab | None | OK.
