Dots appearing on screen between words, inserted with space bar. S
MS Word
How do you stop the periods or dots appearing on the screen when typing? Not sure what happened but cannot find way to make it stop. Office 2000 Anyone ever have this problem, can you tell me what to change? -- Ed Dailey |

what "view" set up are you on ?

Dots appearing on screen between words, inserted with space bar. S
If in addition to the dots you also see a backwards P at the end of each
paragrah, then it sounds like you have your formatting marks showing. On your toolbar, look for a button that looks like a backwards P (proofreader's mark for paragraph). Click it to toggle this feature off. If you don't see it on your toolbar, go to View Toolbars Customize Commands and drag this button onto your toolbar. Then follow as listed above.
