Default how do i get the text even at each side of the page

I`m typing up an essay but I cant get the words to be even at the end of each
row and it is very untide looking

Use the Justify instead of left align.

And make sure you are hyphenating (manual or automatic), else you might
end up looking a lot more untidy than before ... :-)
