How do I get autotext that I have made to appear either as a new catagory
(signatures, greetings, etc) or under an existing one?

AutoText "categories" are styles. For an explanation, see

The name of the category that receives an entry comes from the name of the
paragraph style applied to the text you highlight to make the entry. So if
you want the new entry to appear in the Signature group, apply the Signature
style to the text before you press Alt+F3. If you want to make a new group,
first define a paragraph style (it doesn't have to have any special
formatting, only the name is significant) and apply it to the text before
you press Alt+F3.

See http://www.word.mvps.org/faqs/custom...n/AutoText.htm for more info.
